Overview

Tanzania soccer can go to great heights if soccer clubs can follow the footsteps of Azam FC and focus on soccer development.

Established in 2007, the team has managed to do the worth things in the game and now are among the best three teams.

The team focus and implementations on it has shown the green light in the game and may attain the first position compare to the giants’ teams, Young Africans, Simba SC and Mtibwa Sugar.

Young Africans and Simba SC have rich history in the country. The two clubs have been established in 1930s and have more than 75 years in the country.

If you asked yourself what are memorable development that the two teams have done so far, you will end with the historical buildings they have and winning Tanzania trophies with rare good performance in international competitions only.

Young Africans have many investment asset, club house building, house at Mafia Street and Kaunda ground while Simba SC despite the rich history, the team has only club and they do not have training ground.

The teams have remained icon in the country with poor development despite the fact that they have so many members and fans.

To Azam FC is different story, the team have only four years since its establishment and so far have shown the positive sign of development.

Azam FC has managed to buy land at Chamazi and start building its training –cum match ground in the mainland Vodacom Premier League.

The multimillions project is consisting sand pitch training ground, modern swimming pool, gym and artificial turf ground. The project also has modern hostel with self –contained rooms.

This is the good achievement in Tanzania’s soccer history as the team will be the first one to have such modern training facilities.

The team Vice -Chairman, Said Mohamed said that their plan is to use the ground during the second round matches starting from October.

He said that the establishment of the club base focuses much on Youths development which has so far delivered good fruits.

“We have number of youth players who have been promoted to feature in the senior team, this is the start, we expect to see the program progress and in the next season, we would now recruit players out of our soccer academy,” said Mohamed.

Some players are Himid Mao Mkami, Sino Agustino,  Cosmas Lewis, Tumba Swedi, Mau Ally and Haji Nuhu.

He said that Azam FC seeks to create professional footballers in and out of the pitch.

“Our staff hard work, dedication, and time management skills will not only support our youth success, but promote a successful football ethic throughout their lives,” he said.

He added that  many of our youth will move on to become successful footballers in Tanzania and world over, proving our ability to generate income and create quality future players.

 He also said that they will institute club fan base as well as brand the club Logo and jersey and establish store where team jersey, will be sold

 And create a network of sponsors who will help to put the club at the topflight.

 Our staff is dedicated to our footballer’s success in life today, while aiming to achieve maximum development of their potential in the future by sending them to professional football abroad.

SUCCESS;

Apart of finishing in third position in last season, the team has managed to recruit the best players in the country.

Former Young Africans and national soccer team, Taifa Stars lethal striker, Mrisho Ngassa is one of them. Ngassa crossed to Azam FC with the breaking record package. The player is now the most expensive in the country.

Apart of Ngassa, the team has signed, Kally Ongalla from Sweden and Rwanda;s skipper, Patrick Mafisango who is also play for East and Central Africa club champions, CECAFA.

In the list also include, Jabir Aziz, Ramadhani “Redondo” Chombo and aerial Ugandan striker, Peter Ssenyonjo. The team striking force will combine, John Bocco who was among the top three scorers in the last season.

Azam FC is dedicated to the philosophy of sustained development. He said that they have established an environment which keeps their players interested and loving the sport of football, while simultaneously fostering their potential for financial and professional growth.

He said that they expect many of our retired professional players to return into administration as coaches, managers, planers, scouts and analysts.
