Erasto Nyoni

A box-to-box midfielder who can also play well as center half or right back,  Nyoni has risen to become the heartbeat of the team attack and has cemented his place in the Tanzania side as well. His work-rate, range of passing and attacking threat makes him almost the complete midfielder.

One of the 'golden generations' to emerge from Rolling Stone academy in Arusha, Nyoni has quickly improved his all-around game to become one of the most consistent players in the top flight. He is also an incredibly consistent Taifa Stars first choice midfielder.

A versatile player with ability to operate in a number of positions . Though he is much regarded as a right full back, he has also established himself as a dependable central defender especially as a back four.

Erasto revealed his versatility when he spent most of the 2010/11 period playing as a central defender. He has also on several occasions played and performed on the left side of the back line and looked sold when handed responsibility to ply in the middle of the pitch as a defensive midfielder.

He was regarded as hero when he netted the solitary goal in the Taifa Stars victory against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou in June 2007. Though the country could not eventually make it to the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, the victory was the first one on an away soil in 24 years since  the memorable 1984 1-3 triumph in Kampala Uganda.
