A master of midfielder for Azam FC having joined the club from Simba SC in 2009. Before joining Simba Aziz spent some good seasons with Ashanti, a Dar es Salaam based club which was relegated to lower division in 2007.
Currently Aziz stands as one of the key players mainly for midfield battle. He looks consistently fit after facing a long lay off in late 2008 to early 2009 when he suffered a knee injury during his stint at Simba.
But since joining Azam Aziz has played a big role to the club’s achievements by finishing third in two consecutive seasons.
His ability for passing, concentration and appropriate positioning and movement by being in right place at right time has always proved him to be one of the high quality midfielders in the country. His age also gives him prospects of prospering in his football career.
Aziz is also part of the national team and his performance with the club increases his chance also to excel at national team level.
He put his name to the limelight when scored against Brazil during an international friendly match in June 2010. His header beat goalkeeper Aureliho Gomes
This electrifying defensive & attacking midfielder or winger is unquestionably for both Azam FC and Taifa Stars. Slight of frame he might be, but he more than makes up for it with his hard-running, limitless energy and indomitable spirit.
His coach has nicknamed his as POLICE DOG compliment come from his tireless hunting for the ball and making tackes when the team lost posession.
He can pass, dribble, whip in a deadly cross or go for goal himself. Essentially, when he is on the ball, Azam FC believes they are in business. He scored his first international goal in the famous 5-1 loss against Brazil national soccer team and drew new history in his soccer career.
Aziz has blossomed as a creative midfielder with limitless energy who is renowned for scoring crucial goals at crucial times. He is a real leader and has superb vision.
When he was with Simba SC, Aziz also hit a rich seam of form in the 2008-9 seasons when operating in a more advanced role, scoring important goals in all competitions.
He produced the assist for Mussa Hassan Mgosi’s scoring chat in the season that saw Kenyan Boniface Ambani winning the golden boot award. He is a quite superb passer of the ball who possesses both excellent vision and the ability to dictate the pace and tempo of a contest.
Aziz also has a strong character and mentality to complement his technical excellence and has become more potent in front of goal.
He is the player with best attitude at the club
